AVERAGE FUEL CONSUMPTION DOWN BY 2 TO 3 LITRES

L. Van Bogaert Transport invests continuously in the modernisation of its fleet, which consists almost exclusively of DAF XF vehicles. Efficient trucks that, thanks to the DAF Driver Training only becoming more efficient.

WIDE SELECTION OF TRAILERS

L . Van Bogaert Transport has been operating for 85 years, primarily as a transporter for the construction industry, a specialisation that can be attributed mostly to the large number of construction companies in the region. The fleet is made up of a wide selection of DAF XF tractors and trailers, including curtain-side trailers, flatbed trailers, boom trucks and platform trucks.

MAKING A VIRTUE OUT OF NECESSITY

“Driver training has become a constant source of concern for transport companies as a result of the Code 95 requirements. However, DAF has managed to make a virtue out of this necessity by linking eco-driving directly to the truck that the driver uses on a daily basis,” says Bart Malfliet. This allows the driver to use all the options that their truck offers to make it more efficient out on the road. “Our drivers have managed to do this very successfully and after taking the training their average fuel consumption fell by two to three litres,” adds Bart Malfliet.

DAF KNOWS WHAT IT IS DOING

The fact that DAF Trucks offers DAF Driver Training free of charge to anyone buying a new truck is a fantastic extra, according to Bart Malfliet: “The specific training for each new truck results in improved fuel efficiency and also helps to keep your drivers sharp. The training encourages them to do all they can to find those extra percentage points for their driver score, time and time again.”
