DAF Safe Salute Messenger

The New Generation DAF trucks offer outstanding safety for drivers. In line with the philosophy “Hands on the Wheel, Eyes on the Road” we’re pleased to introduce a revolutionary feature in Human-Machine-Human interaction. DAF Safe Salute Messenger greets an approaching truck driver using a state-of-the-art LED Display. The display is mounted directly behind the windscreen for optimal viewing from other trucks.

The ‘Eyes on the Road’ highly advanced recognition software scans the approaching vehicle’s license plate. The license plate is then cross-referenced to a personal and secure database. When the license plate is a positive match, a pre-recorded message by the driver is shown on the LED display. The pre-recorded message greets the approaching driver without ever having to move a hand from the wheel.
