Mario Suy
Program Manager IT & Finance
"I connect people, break down silos, and make sure teams work together."
My name is Mario Suy, and I work as a Program Manager on two company-wide projects: the implementation of ViDA and the AI Act. ViDA focuses on electronic invoicing and VAT reporting, while the AI Act sets legal requirements for the use of artificial intelligence. Both projects are essential for our compliance and affect the entire organization.
In my role, I connect different disciplines. For more than 19 years, I have worked at DAF in bridging roles between Finance and other domains, and now especially between IT, Finance, and the business.
The biggest challenge is bringing the organization along. The impact is significant, while ownership is often fragmented. That is why I focus on creating awareness, urgency, and collaboration. Take ViDA, for example: dozens of invoicing systems need to be aligned, which affects multiple departments and requires movement across the entire organization.
As a program manager, I see myself as a facilitator: I connect people, break down silos, and make sure teams work together. I prefer to do that through direct contact. Face-to-face conversations help me better understand what is going on and allow me to respond more quickly.
With my background in Finance, I do not just look at the numbers; I also actively think along with the business. At the same time, I continue to develop myself further in IT, which makes my role even more challenging.
It is precisely this combination of content, collaboration, and dynamics that makes this work so interesting for me: making sure everything and everyone comes together so that we can move forward as an organization.
