DAF HVO

Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil

Without vehicle adaptions 90% CO₂ reduction

DAF’s modern diesel engines in the LF, CF and XF series are already suitable for HVO (Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil), a latest generation of biodiesels that is made from vegetable oils and waste fats.

90% reduction in CO2 emissions

Our current generation of DAF trucks can already run on HVO without technical adjustments or reduction in vehicle performance.

An environmentally friendly diesel alternative

Unlike previous generations of biodiesels, the production of HVO does not affect food production. This was an important reason why DAF was reluctant in the past to promote the use of biodiesel. Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil (HVO) is made by hydrogenating plant-based oils and waste to produce biodiesel. Because this process uses hydrogen instead of methanol, it makes HVO a more environmentally friendly diesel alternative. It's odour-free, biodegradable and produces fewer emissions. Ask your fuel supplier for more details.
